Volunteers are still needed to count the homeless in Santa Barbara County.

Common Ground Santa Barbara is planning to train 500 volunteers to canvas the community beginning Monday morning.

They will also evaluate them to see who is most vulnerable and in need of services.

Stacy Goldsmith, Good Samaritan Shelter Case Manager, said, “The survey is important because it allows us to find who’s at the highest risk and what we can do to get them services.”

Volunteers are still needed to survey north county.

Training is set for Sunday in Santa Maria, Lompoc and Santa Barbara.

The deadline to sign up to volunteer is Saturday at 5 pm. Go to www.commongroundsb.org for more information.
