Local organizations in the Santa Barbara area are throwing a free Community Health Fair on Saturday for all ages.
The event will be held at the Franklin Neighborhood Center, 1136 East Montecito St. in Santa Barbara, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
There will be free health screenings including body mass index measurement, eye exams, immunizations, blood pressure checks, and more.
The fair is being put on by the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara and the Health Access and Care Coordination Project (HACC).
The HACC Project is a year-long project funded by CenCal Health designed to improve access to health care and behavioral services for medical residents living in affordable housing.
“Promoting access to health care services is essential for achieving health equity and increasing the quality of life for everyone in our community,” said Alice Redit, Resident Service Supervisor for the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara.
Attendees can also participate in yoga, Zumba, eat healthy food, win prizes, and there will be activities for the kids.
