1. Office Assistant – Bilingual
Under general supervision, the Office Assistant serves as the first point of contact for the agency, delivering exceptional customer service while providing administrative support to the Housing Management Department and Section 8 Program. This role is responsible for managing a busy multi-line phone system, greeting and assisting visitors, responding to inquiries, and performing a variety of clerical and administrative functions in a fast-paced office environment. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and compassionate, with strong communication and clerical skills, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to serving the public.

2. On-site Property Management Representative – 3055 De La Vina St.
HACSB’s newest property at 3055 De La Vina is the former Quality Inn currently undergoing renovation and conversion into 31 studio units. The community is expected to open in December 2026. The development will provide safe, stable housing for low-income individuals that are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. The Property Management Representative will live and work on-site, overseeing daily operations and on-site management of the property as well as managing the property’s caseload including tenant reviews, vacancies and eligibility. In addition, supportive services will be provided by an external service provider. Compensation package includes competitive 5 step salary range $27.02-$32.84 per hour and bilingual premium pay (if applicable) plus use of free one-bedroom apartment including utilities.

3. Maintenance Assistant
The Housing Authority is seeking a dedicated and self-motivated individual with a strong commitment to quality, customer service, and basic maintenance skills to join our respected team of professionals. In this role, and under direct supervision, Maintenance Assistant performs routine building and facilities maintenance, assists with semi-skilled repairs and general upkeep of facilities, supports team efforts and ensures work is completed to high standards. This is a great opportunity for an individual who takes pride in their work, values teamwork, and is eager to grow their skills in a supportive and professional environment.

The Housing Authority may provide a preference to applicants who meet one or more of the criteria listed below. We encourage individuals who reside in a Housing Authority property, are a housing program participant with the Housing Authority or live within the metropolitan area (or non-metropolitan area of the county) of Santa Barbara and are considered a “low-income” family or individual, as defined in Section 135.5, to apply to participate in this program, however this is not a requirement.
