A ribbon cutting event was held on Tuesday, to commemorate the completion of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara’s 633 De la Vina Street housing project. The property was built in 1953 and was purchased by the Housing Authority in 2007. The renovation took about six months to finish and will remain as affordable housing for the community. Rob Pearson, Executive Director and CEO of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara says ‘Having an affordable, comfortable and safe place to live is crucial for those on low fixed incomes and is a stepping stone for individuals and families working toward self-sufficiency’.
