First Ever In-Depth SB County Homeless Survey
2011-05-10
On Monday leaders from local government, non-profit organizations, business and faith communities announced in a press conference the results of a county wide survey of homeless individuals and families. The hour long briefing went over the data that resulted from the survey performed by Common Ground and a group of 500 volunteers in a effort to find out the living conditions, location, common illnesses and general demographic information of people who experience homelessness in Santa Barbara County. The purpose of the survey is to have a better understanding of what the real numbers are and to improve coordination and communication across agencies that provide care to the homeless.
