Housing Project Focuses on Low Income Population
2010-10-05
Since 1969, the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara has developed over 3,000 rental housing units providing a safe, decent and affordable place to live for thousands of people of low income. The Housing Authority latest project is the Artisan Court on Cota St. The 55-unit studio apartment development will provide housing for three underserved target groups: youth aging out of foster care, formerly homeless people, and low-income downtown workers. All studio apartments will come fully furnished and ready to move in with the proceeds from the Adopt-A-Room campaign. The housing development is scheduled to be finished in February 2011.
